Poverty In India
Shortage of common things like food, clothing, and shelter is called Poverty. Main causes of poverty are unemployment,
illiteracy and social iniquity and discrimination.
Indian government has launched various plans to eradicate poverty in India. Raising the population is very largest cause of
poverty in India. Luring the last 46 year has increased at
the rate of 2.3% per annum. Poverty in India is a big problem.
situation poverty is the one of main issues of economists. It is very shameful for India.
India now has 100 million more people living below the poverty line in 2004. The planning Commission which was asked by the
Minister on Food to give the below the poverty line families.
India has large scale of poverty. India’s has a world’s largest number of poor people living in a single country.
75% of the poor are in rural areas and most of the daily wages laborers. Poverty in India can be classified into
two part namely rural poverty and urban poverty. Some state in India has many poverty namely Bihar,UttarPradesh , Uddisha, Kolkata. India
government has launched various plans like in primary school is giving mid-a-meal and for girl “LADDALI YOJANA”.
And government has taken a step of ‘National Employment Program’ and “Food for work”. India will have to work hard for eradication of poverty.
Indian government need to take action for improve and finish illiteracy and unemployment. No doubt poverty is the cause of all social evil.
When poverty and population increase then crime and Social evil also increase. So we can say poverty is the root cause of social evil.
